Good comment, Piaboston.  It is, indeed, about all types of love.  "Romantic" love is out of the question for me - possibly forever. 

I saw "28 Days," last night, and it was an excellent movie about recovering addicts.  The one question that came up was when a recovering addict (of ANY type) should allow a romantically intimate relationship.  The answer was priceless:  buy a plant and care for it for one year.  If the plant survives, get a pet and care for the pet and the plant for another year.  If, after 2 years, both the plant and the pet have survived and thrived, THEN it may be time to consider a relationship!

Focusing on myself is something that I've never really done in my lifetime.  I've always given others the attention that I should have given to myself - it's part of my shame core.  I'm ashamed (if THAT makes any sense!) to literally care about (and, for) myself. 

Boy, do I have a lot of work to do!
