JAN 12 2011 Consider community of individuals who consider themselves skilled problem solvers --have great ideas -fantastic solutions - yet when they come together solutions seem to be blocked and frustrations build. even the most inspiring ideas are not heard because feelings and needs are not given attention. meetings are called- elaborate plans are developed over and over===THEREIS AN ELEPHANT AT EVERY MEETING no one talks about it----the elephant grows===frustration continues tobuild -more elaborate and brilliant solutions are raised by this club of mensas---the elephant is this experience of pain and confusion that will not leave the group people become angered some give up ---they diagnose the source of their communities problem as the leader nobody considers the real culprit the negating of a space where each individual's feelins and needs are heard OFTEN what is really going on is the confusion of what an individual says with what has really been said this elephant is atevery meeting.
