     To answer your presumption, " No,  only a fool would entertain any notion that they knew the will of God!

  I am neither a fool or one who thinks he knows any such...

     As to abiding to God's Will;

  First since we do not know all that it encompasses to follow such is a very limited pathway...

  Second since humans have been given the most basic laws or commandments and we can not keep them, why would one think that by some miracle that they could ever fully abide by them? 

 Then if by some method you were able understand such; human nature would not allow you to live them...

 " every way of a man (person) is right in his own eyes "  Proverbs 21:2

 Finally the course of history has shown that we (humans) can not live God's commandments through rules and regulations; therefore we must have a method of Forgiveness given by a Champion, King, Lord, Master, through His Mercy and Grace!

 This is where you (we) must submit to the Lordship of the only human to live a perfect sinless life...

 Since no man knows God's Plan, Mind, Will, or any other aspect except for His Concern, Grace and expressed Love for mankind!  We can not follow or ever fulfill many if any of the laws, commandments of God, therefore we are dependent upon the Mercy and Grace of Almighty God!

 Blessed far beyond anything I could ever deserve...   I sure do not know it all!   

 Seek ye first the Kingdom of God (Heaven) and these things will be added unto you!
