Okay, so you are a confirmed Fossil fuels person, but perhaps we can find something to agree on - home electric power.


Local is best! is a movement that gives each person the power to create their own power. You say it "operates at a loss", but in that we can surely debate the facts.

Consider the people who have invested in solar or wind at their homes, and once it is paid for, even if it is as long as 10 years, THEN IT PRODUCES ELECTRICITY FOR FREE for up to 20 more years.

How do you refute something like that? let ME tell YOU - it never pays for itself. Right? Is that all you got? LOL, this is silly eh. :)

Of course it pays for itself - investing $20,000 gets all the electricity a home uses, typically $150 per month, or $1800 per year, times 10 years = $18,000, and so 12 years has gone by, and the cost of electric service has gone up and up so those figures become better looking all the time...

And so it is obvious that it will pay for itself, and many home systems that produce all the electricity the home uses are much less than $20,000. AND, getting cheaper all the time. Consider the subsidies that fossil fuels get, and that there are now subsidies for clean energy too... without the hidden costs of fossil fuel energy such as CO2 and toxins, health care costs, environmental destruction, etc.

you tell me to "get real"? Ok, I did, it is your turn now.
