 Thank you for your reply...

Your reply is very extensive; therefore it would take some extensive effort to completely answer each point... Which is beyond the scope of this reply; we can pursue more on this statement of GOD & SIN; in future blogs plus on my web site at simplytruth.com (LC).

You were very close on your choice of the prodigal son; as an illustration for sin!  There is  much more as to the cause or purpose of sin...

First we all sin and fall short of the glory of God!  So what is sin?  To be more precise SIN is one or more of the following {but not limited to} actions: It the result of a grievance, or rebellion, or open disregard, or the performance of some destructive action against oneself, or the total sell out to the dark (evil) side of eternal existence!

So unless you think that God can sin against Himself, all sin is the defiance or rejection of God's love and desire to have peace and righteous order prevail in the universe!

Degrees of Sin are only measured by man; any and all sin is against the will (desire) of God!

Sin is a show stopper!  It is the eternal separation of man from the glory of God!  That is why there had to be a solution or method of restitution for man kind or all would have been lost!

This is where the Atonement of Jesus Christ came into the picture!  The only sinless man, to give himself as the capitulation for all humans...  All the other humans were given the opportunity to choose or accept this gift of Grace {a free will gift, which the recipient did not earn or deserve} and be reconciled back with all the rights and privileges {as in the parable of the prodigal son} once they (anyone} accepted this awesome eternal gift!

This is briefly the difference between success and failure of eternal human existence! Sin had to be reconciled!  We will discuss this more in the future!

Thank you again for caring and sharing...

Kermit; Blessed beyond anything I deserve through the Grace of God!
