Mariposa Azul,

I didn't realize that you had done the Master Cleanse before. I like fasting because - in theory - I don't have to think about food. I mean, there are no choices to make.

I just started (well, 2 wks. ago) a 6 wk. eating plan by Joel Fuhrman. It is a vegan diet, mostly fruit and veggies. I am really amazed that I am not having cravings for sweets or meat. I just make several types of veggies each night for dinner and a big salad. My husband and boys eat that and meat and potatoes. I find I am very satisfied with just the veggies and salad (can also add wheat bread, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, a potato or sweet potato once a day - not really restrictive). Then I have fruit for breakfast and a salad and veggies for lunch. Beans for protein. There are some posts about it on the Diet and Nutrition forum.

Anyway, good luck with your fast. I grew up having to "give something up" for Lent. I still do it most years. This year I feel I am already giving up meat, dairy (oh, cheese!!), and eggs. It has been an interesting few weeks. I hope your fast gives you the strength to resist the binge/purge cycle.

Well, we are off to Las Vegas for the rest of the week to celebrate my sons' spring break. I'll check in on my return. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Keep up the good work. Stay strong.

Love, love, love,

M
