Guys I urge you to look at a class action suit against the manufacturers of this device. We had the exact same problem with my wife on her second Mirena. First one worked fine but the second one had her in total agony for 8 months, joint pain started at her heel, moved to left hip, then right shoulder, ribs, eventually both hips. She could hardly walk without pain medication. After reading this forum we had it removed, within 2 weeks she was healthy again. I still owe thousands in medical bills and nobody seems to give a shyte. The manufacturers obviously changed something in the non active ingrediants of the Mirena, why otherwise would the firts one work so well and the second cause so much pain? I'm sure they know what they have done but elected not to withdraw the faulty batch.
