i had mirena inserted in aug 2006, i did fine for awhile, then in april 2007 i had to have a large tumor removed from the back of my liver. dr. reporting it was from use of earlier birth control pills, i told them i now had an iud and they said nothing, i am having really bad pain since part of liver removal and wonder if it is the mirena and if i should even still have it. i have lost a lot of hair! and my face is so inflamed with acne it hurts. i thought i was just feeling sad for the past 6 months but it is getting worse i cry several times a day, and i have swelling in ankles and else where. i thought it was just me until i found this sight. the drs. fail to tell us alot of important info about hormones, i was never told they could affect my liver and i wonder if this iud is still harming mine. i'm going to try to find a dr. this week to discuss having mine removed, liver surgery is no joke! it's second to open heart surgery my scar is about18 inches or more! i'm extremely tired all the time i can't wait to sleep as soon as i'm awake.
