Brother Leslie!
Thank You for the beginning of your report on "Pac Sym '7"!
Was the closing ceremony taped?
I'd love to see that!
If it takes a community to raise a child then surely the dream of local sustainable foods is a child that deserves all of the community's support. Ans since the community is home watching TV then wouldn't our gardening efforts be more effective by including that broadcasting technology?
I have begun shaping a live (multi-media) broadcast on the current raw milk controversy that is heating up courtesy of the State legislature that apparently got the governor to sign their (quickly written) bill that some say is designed to eliminate legal commercial sale of raw milk. I can keep you posted as this develops. The idea for the broadcast is to include a web cast that would allow all of the people in California to listen-in and possibly participate in the forum.
Here are a few web sites for further information on this issue:

The core issue is whether the government has the right to deprive people of whole unprocessed foods through legislative acts that require food to be pasteurized, radiated and/or treated in ways that alter the food or it's capacity to nourish us in. We need to preserve all the nutrition capacity in our foods. Anyone who knows the declining history of soils realizes that food has already been compromised to a very degraded point that now offers only a fraction of the nutrition that food had 100 years ago. This history is very well documented and includes the findings of Weston A. Price and many other researchers. In addition our leading teachers of nutrition have informed us that because pasteurization destroys the enzymatic and other vitality of those products it transforms those once wholesome food, fit for human consumption, into something different and potentially poisonous to human health and that is 100% the opposite of what the government clams as the purpose for pasteurization. We now know that the process is for commercial interests only to allow a greatly extended shelf life and thereby virtually eliminate product loss and thereby lost sales.
The history and health benefits of raw milk (and other topics of interest) are included in a broadcast quality program I have on DVD: "The Raw Milk Controversy: Fact & Fiction - A Conversation with Mark McAfee (Organic Pastures Dairy founder) and Dr. Dale Jacobson, DC. I am considering offering this DVD for free to anyone making a donation towards the production of the new live broadcast that I am currently shaping and proposing. At this pint it appears we need approximately $4,000 to cover the actual hard costs for the production so that it can be broadcast through a couple community access stations and recorded.
It is a tremendous joy to have the community's support for initiatives that are designed for the benefit of the community. In fact, that support is essential for the survival of these kins of initiatives!
And so I thank you brother and all your readers for every contribution from the kindest thoughts to the myriad of acts that all work together for the greater good of the whole! I believe government agents will inevitably come to respect and honor the people's choice to: "Keep Our Foods Whole, Sacred and Free"!
Blessings on our food, the local farmers, all our families and our local communities!
Chef Jem
