I had the Mirena fitted 16days ago. About a week after it was inserted I broke out in a very itchy rash on my knees, elbows and top of my feet. That evening it went away so I thought I had recovered only to wake during the night with hives and very painful joint and muscles. The next night I woke up with a swollen face and very swollen lips. It appears I am having a sever allergic reaction to the Mirena. I am on antihistamines to treat the allergic symptoms and my dr hopes it will pass. I am trying to find someone who has reacted like this or similar. I want to know do I have it out or do I try stick this out in hope my body will become used to it. for some reason Mirena.com doesn't have any contact information I can use. I am having a period and it is so much lighter as i suffer with very heavy periods and painful ones. The Mirena was inserted to help with my endometriosis and will only see results if it remains in place. Any advice would be great
