That's Great!  Metformin has long been a Life Extension Drug (Smart Drug).  Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw talked about it clear back in the 80s.  Anti-phamaceutical people always scream acidosis.  The fact is it rarely causes it.  If one is healthy, they should be fine.  It is important to take vitamin B12.  One should get a blood work up every couple years or so and be sure to include creatine and uric acid level testing.  But, that I recommended for everyone.  I have been out of Metformin for a week and a half, need to get some, and I feel like a house.  I put on 5 or more pounds right away.  Metformin helps you put on and maintain muscle and burn fat.  It is a most important drug nowadays with all the high glycemic load foods people are consuming.  I eat pretty well, but still I eat things that raise the blood sugar and the Metformin keeps my blood sugar even.   http://curezone.com/blogs/fm.asp?i=1007269
