WOW! There are people out there that get water at 25-30 feet????? My well is 700 feet deep. Yes, that's *700* feet deep. And gues what? It went dry!!!! And it's only 2 of us, no leaks in the house, and water conserving flow restrictors on everything.
Up here in Wantage Twp, Sussex County, NJ, there are so many of us that have been drilling deeper and deeper, some of us have two or more wells on our property, some have dry holes... and you know what? Up here, the CHEAPEST a well, with pump installed and certified well abandonment costs about $10,000. I am not kidding. Yes, there were all kinds of town hall meetings and issues, but no one does anything and our town gov't. pretends there is nothing wrong. Why? They build and develop up here like crazy. I can't BELIEVE that you had success with jamming a pipe in the ground and getting water. Or only drilling another 15 feet or so in the well. I am sooooooooo JEALOUS!!!!
Anyway, my question to you, or anyone reading this is: HAVE ANY OF YOU had a very deep well that lost yield, but then had luck digging elsewhere on your property and hitting water with the bang-a-pipe-in-the-ground method??????? How deep??? And through shale? (we have Martinsburg Shale here, whatever that is). Or using a rented auger??? Please let me know!!!
