dear byker, thanks sweetheart,
seeing that post this morning 0800hrs.GMT. took me back to new zealand where i was living at the time. xthat year i lost my mum.x i remember that day on tv when his death was announced. well that was a terrible shock in itself but when i actually see the physical changes in him i was pulverised, i couldn't help but cry, for like many others i loved him so much.
i was a teenager in the mid-fifties so among jerry lee, little richard, fats domino, pat boone etc. elvis stood out, and us teenager's in the uk had great times. even now i spend a couple of hours in my bedroom smacking out his songs on my acoustic guitar, so byker i'm a bit stuck in the fifties.
this year, 30 years since he left that stage he still hasn't left the building. tomi.
