Yes that's the official position, but I've seen a lot of material over the years alleging behind the scenes infiltration. Some say that one of the Popes was murdered when it was learned he was about to expose this infiltration. But I think we could agree that the RCC holds to many of the same principles as FM, such as ecumenism and its own secretiveness, as you so thoroughly documented.

So we have to take the official pronouncements of the Vatican with the same grain of salt as those of the government.
