Just to clarify,

I speak of CZ as it has become, not necessarily as it used to be. People do begin with good intentions in many cases, but still cannot be absolved of responsibility when things go sour. There are many message boards with similar problems, to the point where there is even a site that does nothing but allow people to vent over unfair treatment they've received in such boards, usually at the hands of sadistic moderators or distant admins.

But now, here at CZ, there is rampant rule violation and personal attacks on a level exceeding even that which I've seen in boards dedicated to atheism. For a website that is purported to be about helping people heal, to allow such destruction on this scale is unconscionable. And since mods here have little real power, responsibility must lie with the webmaster. And knowing that said webmaster uses his anon number to weigh in on the side of the Nazis, and does nothing about the people who routinely break his rules, he deserves neither respect nor gratitude anymore.

One of the reasons I stopped posting anyplace but here is for the very reason you mentioned: not giving our detractors any more attention than they deserve. But they force it on me, and as I say in my description, I can and will defend myself. And as already shown, they are having the effect of making my blog more popular, so I see a silver lining in this dark cloud.
