I use the Windows codes, much more cryptic

á = Alt + 0225
é = Alt + 0233
í = Alt + 0237
ó = Alt + 0243
ú = Alt + 0250
ñ = Alt + 0241
¡ = Alt + 0161
¿ = Alt + 0191

Strangely at work on my desktop only the right ALT tab works while on the laptop both work.

In Windows you can also change to international keyboard and (I think) to Spanish keyboard. Now on to the the French accent aigu and grave.

When running Linux on my personal mac the procedure is essentially the same, you can use codes or the keyboard strokes
