I got the Mirena IUD 4 days ago for severe bleeding. (I had to receive 2 units of blood). I had a D & C which was supposed to take care of the problem. When it didn't, I tried hormone pills with extreme side effects. My doctor suggested the Mirena. He says this is the only option other than having a hysterectomy. I have already been experiencing side effects from the Mirena. I am moody, have a back ache, headachy, and starting to get acne. Should I wait for a period of time to see if the side effects get better or should I go ahead and have my doctor remove it? I have no other option other than a hysterectomy. Please give me your opinions on what you would do if you were in my place. Keep the Mirena or have a hysterectomy??
