Congratulations on your decision to help yourself!! My husband quit about a month ago, cold turkey as you say and he´s doing just great!! I quit about 4 years ago (the same way - just stopped!) and since i know i´M NOT addicted anymore, do allow myself a cigarette once in a while. Last year, i may have smoked about 6 or 7 thru out the year and this year even less. Everytime I did smoke tho I took particular note of when the craving came upon me and noticed that it was usually when I was in company and we were talking about some awful situation that really made me feel "bad" (Sad) and then I went into this feeling like "who cares - everything about this life is so miserable...". That kind of extremely negative attitude always seem to elicit the need to smoke... Now that I´ve found that out it helps - because THANK THE LORD I know that not everything about this life is miserable and I certainly don´t want to kill myself for that reason!
Also good to hear about that last amalgam filling coming out soon... Did you know there are some great ways to get rid of the mercury-residue that may be the reason you feel so ill? Read a post about a cilantro pesto with garlic some time back that I´ll be searching for to send you...
Good luck and God bless!
