I usually don't watch films with much violence in them; this is rated R for violence in it, no sex, though (too bad--I'd rather see an R movie for sex than for violence)but I saw this in the movie theater because my teenage son wanted to see it and he was underaged --15 at the time. I don't like Tom Cruise as an actor but he was good in this one, and the guy who played the lead Samurai--Ken Watanabi (spelling?) is an excellent actor.
