Use just a tiny bit of oregeno oil and this is something I wanted to share:
Teas for Cold and Flu

Traditional herbal systems value diaphoretics for treating colds. These perspiration-promoting medicines release waste materials and relieve congestion. Peppermint is a classic example. Drink them hot.

Cooling diaphoretics are used to reduce fever and inflammation. Chrysanthemum flower and honeysuckle flower (Lonicera japonica) are also strongly antimicrobial.5 Elder flower (Sambucus nigra), yarrow flower (Achillea millefolium) and boneset leaf (Eupatorium perfoliatum) are Western diaphoretics. Noted British herbal authority David Hoffmann calls boneset “the best remedy for the relief of the associated symptoms that accompany influenza.”51

Warming diaphoretics also treat the flu. Use them when the main symptom is chills. Basil leaf (Ocimum spp.) is favored in Ayurveda for reducing mucus in the lungs and nasal passages.52, 53,54,55 Basil kills bacteria and stimulates the immune system.56,57 Cinnamon bark is a very effective warming diaphoretic, used at a lower dose, say ˝ ounce, or in medicinal beverage mixtures.

I would suggest a little basil, cinnamon, oregeno oil, and apple cider vinegar for your cold.
