I have some inside info on CZ that shows the problem goes all the way to the top, just like the movie Monsters Inc. Here it is:

There was a time when moderators shared a private chat where we could discuss the sorts of things that we were doing, however, as things got repeatedly heated amongst us, Spirit dealt with us in his typical head-in-the-sand Ahab manner and simply removed all lines of communications. Then the struggles went online, so he made up a bunch of strange new rules which benefited no one and the bickering continued. Wrenn fought long, hard and dirty against Klyd until she succeeded in having him removed and hated by everyone.



Spirit has no character at all, simply refuses to acknowledge problems by ignoring them, and when confronted he simply shuts down his e-mail and then deletes everything he's received. This is how he dealt with the hundreds of letters and supporting evidence some of us sent regarding the sleazy ongoings of Lapis and his puppet Wrenn. As Spirit seemed to be intimidated by Lapis to some extent, they could get away with many things, but not because they were actually given any major powers.



I find it fascinating that John Cullison can act like such a demon inside a debate forum when moderators were at one point strictly forbidden to post on debates with our well known names, which Spirit called "Curezone property". Again, JC can act this way because Spirit is easily intimidated by gruff men and he will do nothing about it, so his actions go unchallenged. The only reason Lapis is not visible is because the complaints he drew for his actions privately with lady posters could have caused a major lawsuit for CZ, but as no moderator ever loses the ability to still see things from a mod's mode online, I suspect he is either going by a different identity altogether or is just peeking silently.
