Blog: My Juice Fasts And Weight Battle
Still feeling good. Walked (6 miles) again this morning ahead of the rain. Didn't need to SWF yesterday or today. Some successful BM's helped that situation.
I'm still doing two apple juices a day, one around 11am and the other around 7/8pm. The rest of the day I dream about food. Just kidding, but you do notice EVERY FOOD thing: advertisements, people eating, smells, all of it. There is no doubt I'm hungry all of the time, but it is not that big a deal once you get used to it.
I've been thinking that at any time now, the fast might end. Frankly, I feel like I can do another week or more with no problem. But it is really an hour by hour, day by day thing. So it is time for me to really start planning to keep the progress going. I want to start an exercise program and eat well. I feel like when the fast is over, I'll be in a position to do it well. I need to be sure I don't break the fast by ordering junk food.
Start Weight: 281
Today's Weight: 260
Total Weight Loss: 21 lbs.

Reek,
You are right, food is all around us....comercials, diet commercials, movies, everything. I packed up all the Halloween candy last night and gave it to a kid I know who came over to borrow one of my dogs. When he visits his dad for a weekend, since he doesn't have a dog at home, I let him come and take one of mine. I put all the candy in a ziplock and gave it to him.
His dad came to the door and said, "Three weeks ago you would've had that eaten in a couple of days. I'm impressed." Sad realization of what I can and had been doing to my body. I just can't do it to myself anymore and I am so proud of you sitting, surrounded by food and beer and staying the course.
Do you find yourself weak when you do any physical activity?
Be well,
Willa

Thanks for the kind words Willa.
As far as physical activity goes, I've sort of intentionally maxed it out at walking. My walk is a long one, yesterday and today I did about 14 miles total, but it is still walking. The fact is though , I feel exactly the same. For me the worst was the first two days. By day three I have really felt the same. Believe me, I'm hungry, but I'm in a bit of a groove now, so I just deal with it.
I'd say if you were to try again, my suggestions would be (and I'm no expert, just some thoughts), start when you are off from work for day one, two and maybe three, and also to take longer to pre fast. Physically, I don't think it did much to prepare me, but mentally, I was really ready and commited.
Best,
Reek

Thank you. Still working on all my life changes. And yes, sometime if I do this again, I may do the prefast longer. I have thought of doing just a prefast as a diet for me for a long period of time.
I do need the substance that food gives me for my work. I also seem to be injuring myself much like one would do with working out and I need to heal. Nutrition and rest seems to be the route for me. An eye opener for me.
Be well,
Willa
