  • Days 17 & 18. Absent minded eating!   by  starstuff     18 y     3,356       2 Messages Shown       Blog: Something with some Crunch.
    But I didn't swallow!!!
Yesterday evening I absent mindedly put a piece of cooked broccoli in my mouth and started chewing. What the ?!!! If it hadn't tasted so foreign (cooked!) I might have swallowed it I guess but I realised what I was doing in time. I wonder how much I eat without thinking usually. Even if it is mostly healthy stuff I'm preparing for the kids. Scary thought.

14 pounds down and my clothes are getting seriously loose!! I can see my face looks different in the mirror - more like a younger me. My skin is super soft too so I'm feeling really good appearance wise and that's a great motivation to keep going.
Mood wise I've been a bit snappy with the kids. I haven't been drinking extra juice to make up for the increased exercise and I think maybe I should. I'm not afraid of calories...it's just a matter of finding time to make an extra juice! Unless, I stop off at the juice place on the way home from my walk each day......refuel before I come back into the dinnertime rush with the kids. That might work, and it would feel like a daily treat. I need to keep tweaking things to give me the best possible chance of making it to 28 days.

I've been for good walks yesterday and today, now I want to get some small weights for some arm-toning exercises...I should be able to get to the sports shop tomorrow morning. That can be my 3 week gift to myself, a few days early.

I've had no vegetable broth since the weekend. It got so I couldn't stand the smell of it cooking on the stove. Instead I've been drinking even more hot lemon, and mandarin squeezed in hot water a couple of times too.

I've been thinking, just tentatively, about how I'll break the fast and I think I've had a brilliant idea! From day 25 or 26 I wont sieve my juice. At the moment I'm using a tea strainer on top of my juice glass and I strain 1 - 3 tsp of pulp out each glass of juice. Some fruits (like pears, in my juicer) turn out more pulpy, and some fruits (like kiwis and mangoes) I don't even bother to juice because they're pretty much ALL pulp...well that's with my juicer anyway. So, day 29 I'm thinking I will juice/pulp some mango. After that I'm not thinking too much about but I will do some research closer to the time. I'm reading recipe books on and off but I'm not ready to start thinking about ME eating yet. A week from now and I'll make more detailed plans for breaking my fast.

thanks for your encouragement... keep om trucking.

Winifred Walker (All the Plants of the Bible) writes about the fruit of the carob or locust tree. It is accepted by many in the East as the food on which John the Baptist fed.
