  • Day 8, I've already done one week of my juice fast! :)   by  crazybutterfly     18 y     3,591       3 Messages Shown       Blog: Juice Fasting: The Ultimate Battle Between Me & Myself
I woke up at 10am today really cranky. It's probably because, like the past few days, I couldn't sleep. I lie down at 10pm, after much tossing and turning for about an hour and a half, I give up and go online until I get sleepy at around 3am. I think maybe it's because of the (still!) lack of exercise. I know this isn't a detox symptom because from what I read of others' blogs, some were able to sleep like a rock.

I weighed myself this morning and after one week on the juice fast, from 120lbs, I weighed somewhere between 110lbs-112lbs. The scale can't decide on which. So, YAY! :)

I have nothing to write really. I just felt like writing.. So I guess I'll just write about what I'm doing on this fast since I haven't really tackled that topic yet. For the experienced juice fasters out there, if I'm doing anything wrong, please tell me. :) Thanks a lot!

Well, as I've said, I do my juices every two hours since having a schedule is easier for me. And since I'm not feeling any hunger pains, it's no trouble. Usually, I get to drink around 6 8oz glasses of juice a day, with fruit juices first (around 3 glasses) and vegetables after. And in between that, lots and lots of water, usually 3L per day. I really don't drink much tea.. I'm more of a coffee person. But on this fast, of course, no coffee.. (sigh..) So I drink green tea with flavor (I love apple!) As for supplements, well.. I'm taking none.. I have no idea where to get them here.. Because if I buy on the net, I might be finished with my fast before the supplements even arrive! Haha! While on this fast, I'm pampering myself as much as I can. :) Since I go out only to buy my fruits and vegetables, it's a great feeling to try and make myself beautiful for no one else but me. :) I do the dry brushing thing, and take long baths to at least try and remove some of the toxins through my skin. Sometimes, I do what Dazzle does, putting the pulp from juicing on my face. Feels great! Still haven't started on the yoga yet.. I keep procrastinating. (big sigh..!) I hope I can start soon.

So what else are my reasons for this fast? Weight loss for one. But actually, it's more of a challenge for me to try and have self-control over food. To try and have a healthier lifestyle instead of eating every junk food I feel like eating (I'm a junk food lover). I'm hoping to rid myself of that. I agree with some of the writers here who've said that food consumes so much of our time. And for some, like me, food is like an activity wherein when I have nothing to do, I eat. It's become something to do, instead of a necessity. I'm hoping that after this, I can try to eat only when I'm hungry, and eat healthy food at that. When I'm into my last week, I'll research all I can about eating raw foods, and make a good plan on how I'm going to eat after this fast. I know I have to be really careful because I feel that the first few weeks post-fast could set the way I eat from that point onwards..

This fast has been good timing for me because after my recent adventures (read my introduction), I felt like I needed some time to myself before I get in touch with my friends again, or basically the outside world. Most of them have no idea that I'm already home because their knowledge is that I'll be back around September. I even don't listen to the radio so that I won't be tempted to go to events or anything. This is a good time for me to cleanse my body and recharge my heart and soul. :)
