Blog: On the path to healthy eating and attitudes....
Today must be a new day. I started to write last night, got side tracked and never got back. This is my journaling experience as I try to figure out how to lose weight, maintain a vegetarian lifestyle in a meat eating home, and control my addiction to diet pills and extreme food swings. Alot for me, but with one thing at a time, and a journal that cannot be thrown away---there's always hope!
I'm heading rapidly to 40!!! With 4 kids between 2-16, and a terrific husband. I do childcare out of my home, and love it.
Today I started well: new diet supplement, a couple waffles with the kids, and superfood. If I cancelled out the waffles I'd be ahead of the game. Now I just have to backpedal and have a small lunch (salad anyone!) and small dinner. Carrots will make a great snack today!
I'm 5'4" and weigh in at 157#. My high tech scale says I'm at 16% body fat, and it's probably close.
Today is a new day, and I can do this. Not over consume at meals, but rather listen closely and pay attention to what my body needs. Right now, based on being so tired I"d guess iron and vit. B..........
This is good, and regardless I'll keep the blog up. Thank you Curezone!!

There's a lot of extreme blogging at this site, people fasting for hundreds of days, etc.
I'd love to welcome you, as a member of the moderation camp! Eating well and exercising are the best ways to trigger a real lifestyle change. It's taken me about 6 months to lose something close to 20 lbs. I'm still at about 185, am running and working out a lot, and am trying to do just what you describe - NOT OVEREAT. That seems to be the key - portion control.
You're at a great body fat percentage to start a really worthwile effort. Congratulations and welcome.
