I turned 40 yesterday, Saturday ...and I am embarassed to say I have broken my fast.
I was so worried about that 3rd day and succeeded, and now, well.... it's funny how much food is part of any celebration. It's almost like you can't get together with people paticuarly family) without the food. I guess for people who don't struggle with their weight it only makes gatherings that much better. My husband is one of those people. Thankfully he always supports me when I do a diet or whatever.
I felt wonderful during the 4 days that I completed my fast and I can't wait to begin again. Yesterday my immediate family and I celebrated this "MILESTONE" as we are calling it (turning 40) and today my parents are coming up to take out to dinner. Telling them I am fasting is not an option.
Monday I begin a new, I did not eat any meat yesterday and I am going to try not to eat any today. My insides were truly being "purged" cleaned out and that heavy bloated feeling was gone.
I will weigh in tomorrow, Monday and start fresh.

Dear "40" -
I've done a bit of long term water fasting in recent years. Allow me to make a recommendation: before to try another fast, read a book by Dr. Joel Fuhrman entitled "Fasting and Eating for Health" - you may be able to get it from your local library. Or you can order it online.
This book served as a "manual" for my first fast of 15 days. I used it every day (and night) to track my progress and to help understand what was happening to my body (and mind) during the fast. Essential reading, and very supportive.
Best Regards on the future fasting. Randy
