  • Day Twenty-three~So Much For Good Intentions   by  hopinso     18 y     2,851       5 Messages Shown       Blog: 40 Days To Life
Last night was pretty rough after a good day, but pain usually seems worse at night. I got up this morning, had my green drink and minerals, washed my hair and went to therapy. The first problem was the doctor was late (motorcycle problems) and I sat in the car for 25 minutes. When I tried to get out-I couldn't. It took several tries just to stand up. When I left home I was in such terrible pain I was weeping, but I was at least able to walk. I finally got inside and sat down and let Doc. wheel me around. Despite the difficulty walking, he was very pleased with my progress. I was able to take ultra sound at almost full strength and he did some adjustments. He said first the swelling would go down, and it is; then I would have longer periods without pain-that happened yesterday; finally, the strength and walking would come back-still waiting on that. I left feeling a little more hopeful.

Then about three miles out of town I had a flat, not just an ordinary flat, my tire came apart. I pulled up in a pasture drive and waited for help. I waited and waited. We have had record heat the last few days and I was so hot. I was in a very rural area between high mountains and there was no service available on my cell phone. I tried to get the jack and spare tire out of the trunk and change the tire my self. I could not walk upright and soon was crawling on the ground. Finally someone stopped and offered to help. I knew this guy slightly, more by reputation than socially, but he was sober and I was desperate. Once he figured out who I was, he went about changing the tire for me and I was slowly on my way with the donut spare on the front. It was a little over fifteen miles to the next town where I could get help. I wound up getting two new tires. By time I got to Bill's and tried to get out of the car, I knew I would not be walking today. I ordered two new tires, paid $200.00 for them and put the rest on credit (that's why I like Bill). By time the new tires were on I was exhausted, in agony, and ready to sit down and cry. Instead I went to Sonic. Oh well, so much for fasting, but I really don't regret it. I needed comfort food even if it was unhealthy. Never has an ice cold Dr. Pepper tasted so good. I always carry a bottle of distilled water with me, but after my adventures it was too hot to drink. So here I am, crawling around, but in less pain than earlier, much poorer than yesterday, but still have that tiny grain of hope from Doc. and the memory of a rarely enjoyed cheeseburger and Dr.Pepper. Tomorrow, back to the fast I hope. ( and hopefully just good things for the rest of today)

Thanks for the comment you left @ my blog. Much appreciated.

I took the time to read most of your blog messages. You have a lot of courage!

Knee pain, back pain, and neck pain + immobility were major issues for me for many years. Headaches too.

I was in 3 rather severe accidents in my life and each one made one or the other of these pains/immobilities worse.

I'm happy to say none of the above are problems for me anymore. I did not have any surgeries. Acupuncture and a bit of chiropractic have been helpful. How I choose to eat makes a difference too, as so many foods cause and/or aggravate inflammation, which can result in pain.

For each person the path to feeling better is different.

How wonderful that you're here at Curezone!

I would love to hear more about your recovery. I had eighteen good months between injuries and feel I can heal again without surgery, but I am sure getting impatient about seeing improvement. I have had excellent Chiropractic care including acupuncture, everything helps a little, but nothing gives lasting results.

I admit my "comfort food" was exactly what I shouldn't eat-sugar, wheat, cheese (dairy) and meat are all on my avoid list, but I just needed something good after a horrible day. Now, hopefully, I'll be back on the right track diet wise.
