Blog: Springin into a NEW healthy lifestyle!!!
Well this weekend i did a short fast but ended slightly last night. But that was just a preparation for my new fast/health journey. These are my plans and my desires during this time.
I Plan on water fasting for 21-30 days...
During this time I want to gain control of my overeating.
Get closer to God, Spend extra time and focus on HIM first.
I do believe God has called me to do this because i was starting to get caught up in the beginnings of an eating disorder and that is not good and would not be of God to be controlled over this. So i want to put this flesh under submission.
I plan on reading the bible daily no less than 15 mins. Shooting for 30 mins.
I want to spend the time i would eating with God as well.
WELL after this i am going to do some juicing for 10-12 days to let my body start getting nutrients and then i will be eating a raw diet for about a week to prepare to introduce food again.
When i do go back to food it will be most likely a combo of many diets i have looked into and then from that point i will be accustomed to eating healthy not eating only junk...
THIS JOURNEY BEGINS TODAY AND WILL LEAD ME TO NEW LEVELS>
Spiritually , Physically and mentally.

Hello!
It's marvalous to be in touch w/ a group of people who have some very specific things in common: like you and I have both begun a fast today, on water, for 21 days (or more in your case). And although my fast isn't religious, per se, it is spiritual in as much as mental clarity and fit body produce a better human. These benefits are my motivation. Shall we agree to check in daily with one another? Offer empathy and pep talking? 21 days will be my longest (14 days a couple of years ago, 8 days last year) and it would be a boon to have a 'buddy' who isn't only supportive but in the trenches!
Best to you!

I too begun a spring fast on the 20th! I am doing a juice fast and am shooting for 40 days, which will be nearly 4x my longest fast. I'm fasting for cleansing of the body and clarity of the mind and I'm with the both of you.
We can do this!
I'm off to work, but hey, it's already day 2! :)

Day 2! Yeah You! Are you having a pleasant time of it? By my simple understanding, we should be entering ketosis today (fat burn zone)!
You know how some people set their watch forward by 5 (or more) minutes in order to 'get ahead'? I find that if I think of my fast thusly: 15 work days + 3 weekends, it's less daunting. In an hour, for example, I will conclude my 2nd workday fasting and there are only 13 left to go!
Are you using any science in your fast? Master Cleanse, oregano oil, and so forth? That's all a little over my head, but I do enjoy (well, it tastes good) my senna tea in the evening... And then, about 3 am, I do NOT enjoy it.
Do you have specific goals in mind for this experience? I want to experience that 'clearer mind' sensation and also that 'fitter bod' feeling. (Meaning that I want to fit my bod into my spring dresses!)
Best to you!

oh .... today was hard... A lot of emotion yesterday and today i was soooooo sleepy during work i couldnt keep my eyes open.. Also had major cravings they where consuming my mind.
Well i am glad to see someone is on for the ride..... I would love to have someone to chat with during this journey..
My main goals are for a clearer mind, spiritual cleansing/renewal, and obviously to see a lot less of me when i look in the mirror.. Thats the bonus. Honestly i want to get a grip on my issue of overeating... I mean i am about 35lbs overweight .. But food has been my comfort and my refuge and I dont think it should have such a hold on someone. It was my drug my self medication. So lately it was getting worse and started to binge and purge but i decided to nip it in the bud before it really took a hold on me. God has led me to this fast and i believe He will sustain me..
I wish you well on your journey and God Bless

Day 3 is here, and so far so good. I am doing what I call a 'modified Master Cleanser', which really just means that I add a glass of fruit/vegetable juice to otherwise lemonade diet everyday. I've only done straight MC's before, but I figure since this one is for the long haul, I'm allowing myself some juice here and there to help me endure.
I am doing this fast as a sort of spring cleaning for my body and mind. I could stand to loose a few pounds, but weight loss is one of my primary goals. Really I am doing this to let my body heal from the abuse I piled on to it from so many years of eating poorly and chain smoking. I'm letting the toxins go.. go.. go!
No real problems yesterday, I felt a little tired in the afternoon, but not too bad. Otherwise I was in a pretty good mood and didn't have any strong food cravings. It is nice to have some others fasting at the same time.
Good luck to us all!

Well, I don't know if my note about not being able to chew sugar free gum got up or not (short story: it made me vomit and later that night, green tea did the same) but I've not indulged in anything aside from water since day 2 and here I am on day 5 feeling... a little ill, slightly touchy and all right aside from that.
How's everyone else doing?
