i really felt like this week i reached a new level with my wieght loss. another 2 pounds gone which has been my steady loss since the fast. but the exciting thing is i can fit into my jeans that i wanted too and a dress that i have not been able to wear for 8 years. i have carried this dress literally half way around the world knowing it didnt fit me but i always wanted to get back into it. they both are quite tight and still more work to do but it finally feels like i am gettign close to my goal. im beginning to think maybe i need to forget about the scales when it comes to my goal weight. however it is a goal of mine and i want to reach it...not sure if i can let go of the number 140..... but i will work on it. i feel really really good. still not happy about the tummy situation but i know i can lose it. it is constantly hard work and i cant wait until i am in mainteneace mode and not losing.

the weekend just passed was fantastic. i gave myself saturday off exercise and ended up playing tennis just for the fun of it with the family. then on sunday got the whole family motivated and we went on a 2 hour bike ride. it felt so good to be one of the active people out and about. i am so greatful for my health i dont ever want to do anythign to jeopardise that again.

to give you an idea of how my week usually is heres a sample:
mon-friday: i try to have three raw days : breakfast juice, lunch salad, dinner fruit. on raw days i eat as much fruit, veggies, raw nuts and hummus and advocado as i like. (love hummus and advocado!)i may have one day of same but eat a small cooked meal at night something low fat and light. i also try to fast one day juice or water fast.
saturday and sunday: i have juice and/or fruit for breakfast, salad for lunch and whatever i feel like for dinner. which is usually some grilled meat/fish and salad or steamed veggies. or out for dinner. i tend to chose light meals and this is mainly because i know anything rich or creamy would just kill me the next day.
i dont eat any snack food, no potatoes, rice or any cooked white starchy food- this is hard for me especially pasta and bread. i dont drink any sodas or store bought juice only water. (well not counting alcohol). if i am hungry or more to the point peckish i will eat baby carrots and raw nuts.
my alcohol consumption i am trying to limit to one night a week but it is usually two (three on a bad w'end or good depending on which way you look at it!ha!)
exercise i run monday, tuesday, thusday, friday for an hour
wednesday i do a step routine and weights for an hour
saturday is day off and sunday is usually a run but i am hoping to add more family time exercise like walkign bikign swimming etc.

and i got to say it is hard work. the food thing is not so bad. im okay with my diet. i miss some family meals like lasagne....but i can handle this. the exercies is pretty much ingrained now. but still there are days i am runnign and i think what the hell am i doing this for. i am lookign forward to beign able to have more off days once i reach my goal weight. also looking forward to maintenance life where i will have a bit more flexibility with what i want to eat. but i still go to bed every nite and wake up every morning and feel really proud of what i have accomplished and the positive changes in my life.

one very interestign thing has happended to me which i think i will post on juicing forum to see if anyone can help me out. i cannot tolerate very much protein if i eat too much meat or chicken or fish (and we are talking small portions) i have major stomach ache the next day. almost intergestion but worst. twice now i have had an allergic rash from chicken. all the meat i consume is organice and always prepared low fat and no additives. i have done small experiements and elimnated other food to see if it is just the protein but it is definatley this that causes the problem. i have thought about replacign with tofu and seeing if this has the same effect. i really do feel like i need to eat some protein. i cant imagine what dairy would do to me and part of the reason i am dairy free. if anyone has any ideas let me know.

    • You're an inspiration   by  annaconda     18 y     1,220
I really love hearing everything you're doing and I'm totally inspired to kick it up a notch in your honor.

Weird things started happening to the way I processed foods after I was vegan for a year - but it was mostly dairy I couldn't process. I've never had any trouble with protein.

      Good luck.

    • Many people are protien and lactose intolerant   by  #19236     18 y     1,168
many people are protien and lactose intolerant and do not even know it, they are misdiagnosed and sick all the time from protien and lactose consumption, sick all thier lives really due to protien and lactose intolerance. avoid beef and milk, just eat a handful of almonds if you want protien.
beef and milk are acidic, mucus forming, congesting and clogging and were foisted on us by junk food peddlers and beef sales men and the beef milking men and thier sales myths.
      Congratulations on losing the weight.
      Best Wishes

    • Thoughts on Digesting Protein   by  teleskier     18 y     1,306
Hi there. In answer to your request for ideas about digesting proteins, I have two thoughts.

Have you taken any sort of probiotics since doing your fasting. They are the friendly bacteria that everyone needs in order to have a balanced and healthy digestive system. One time, after a fast and doing enemas, I started to eat normal foods again, and had bad gas and digestion. I went to a naturalpath and she put me on fermented foods (rejuvalac--a fermented beverage made from wheat berries) which helped replace the friendly bacteria. I ate raw foods, with no protein for two weeks and this fermented beverage and it cleared up my problem. Ann Wigmore, the original advoicate of wheat grass juice also highly recommend rejuvalac. It is easy and cheap to make at home.

Also, I am wondering if your liver is functioning properly. You might want to check on CUREZone under Liver Flush. Donn't know if you know about it, but it is very good part of a lot of people road to health. I am just thinking that your indegestion might be your gallgladder not dealing with the fat in protein. It is thought that gallbaldder problems first start with a congested liver. Anyyway, check on Curezone and Andreas Moritiz website about liver issues and gallbladder issues if you want more info.

Or ask me for more specific links, if you are interested.

Also, you could use the ASKKelly forum, who is a naturalpath on Curezone for advice. She lives near me, so I use her as my naturalpath when I need advice.

Good to hear your doing great! It has a been a long and wonderful and impressive journey for you!

    • Thanks for your candid writing   by  missnook     18 y     1,293
Hello, I just wanted to let you know you have made a difference in my life with your detailed blog. I'm ashamed to admit I 've been feeling sorry for myself over 15 lousy lbs. I go up and down the scale, but over the last few months I have allowed this issue to cripple me. I lay around doing puzzles while my kids and dog beg me to be active with them. Drinking to much alcohol, eating too much rich food, feeling foggy and ill, not working out, sulking around the house, isolation, low self esteem- leads to more drinking and eating, thus continuing the cycle. My beautiful, vibrant six year old daughter asked my why I am always laying in bed all morning; she told me she was worried I was going to die. Today is my birthday and I'm trying to prepare myself mentally for a short term juice fast. Your blog details the breakdown of a negative cycle. I will be reading it during my difficult moments, thank you!
I juice fasted in January for only 4 days ending it with the cure zone liver cleanse. The positive energy I experienced was amazing. I was fitting into my new clothes, exercising with my family, felt a new degree of self-control and confidence. I was getting ready for a Caribbean cruise, but when the trip was over, I had gained the weight back. I realize now I can't try to change bad habits looking forward to a trip. It has to be about looking forward to living my life on my terms, under my control, by starting a positive cycle. Thanks for pointing out the element I have been neglecting! Each entry discussing how proud you felt of your accomplishments reminds me I need to stop dwelling on feelings of past failure and begin focusing in the present and bright future. Thank you again, you have so much to be proud of.
