Blog: My 120 Day Broad Fast
Low energy and hunger caused me to cave in on day 3 of the water fast. I had hoped to at least stay on the water-only for 5 days. When my energy gets low I start thinking about all the stuff I have to do. I broke it with an orange. My energy immediately returned. Later I had some steamed veggies. Now this would qualify as the Daniel Fast, but I had some cheese sauce on the veggies. Cheese sauce is not allowed so day 3 will be an eating day. Actually, I will not be able to count it at all. I can't start counting again until I make it through a day on one of my broad fasting plans. If I take more than 3 eating days in a row I have to start over again. I hope I don't out do Thomas Edision on my attempts number.
Fasting is like a doctor within one's own body fixing broken things.

Be calm, it takes time to work into the discipline of fasting.
There are things you can do to calm a hunger pang, especially a gentle walk, a bit of time in prayer with jesus. In general, getting away from the kitchen and the pressures of eating (socially) is vital.
You likely know this well. :)
I've done 3-4 weekend fasts (fri evening to sunday night). It's a little easier if you think of days as they were for folk before clocks - saturday begins at friday sundown and ends at saturday sundown. It's much easier to start your thoughts of fasting when you are already naturally about to lay down and rest. :)
