    January 17, 2021 - "Hello Everyone in 2021!!" =

"It is hard to imagine and much more hard to realize that we are actually in the year 2021 already! They have always told me that time goes faster and faster the older that you get. I’m realizing the truth of that statement more and more as the years go by! Exactly 11 years ago this month we stopped shipping some of our milk to a processing plant! A lot has happened since that time! When we stopped shipping milk the State Ag people swung into action and we had our first search warrant issued approx. 5 months later. The whole thing dragged out for over 3 years until a jury set us free to continue on with what we were doing! Feeding our community!! I will tell you all over again that if it were not for all of you (members) out there we would not be in business anymore! The only income that has kept the Farm running in all these 11 years has been from members getting food from the Farm they trust! Thank You, Thank You, soo much!!!"[1]

The trial in Wisconsin based on four charges against Vernon Hershberger is over as well as the sentencing hearing. Since then some of the jury members have spoken out against the tactics used to get a solitary conviction regarding a so called "holding order" that should have been moot since the legal basis for that was denied by the jury. Oh well, there's still an appeal process. (If it were me I'd be filing commercial liens on every single individual who proceeded against my private business without cause. That's because I'm not Amish and in my way of thinking the lien 'is only business' - "nothing personal"!) I'm glad for Vernon that the jury had a just enough collective reasoning to work with! Some of the jury even want to become members!

    Vernon Hershbeger to the Members,

I have been asked by numerous members where we stand with the new Raw Milk Bill that has been introduced 2 or 3 weeks ago. I have taken a good long look at it and thought things through by now.

I am slightly disappointed that the Bill does not reflect more of the outcome of our case. If we could randomly pick 12 people out of Sauk County that thought it was ok what we had going here with our membership
etc. why are we afraid to introduce something of that nature into the legislature? What really do the people want? I think the legislators should be listening more to the people than to the big corporations who give their voice according to what will make the most money or give them the most power and control.

If this Bill goes through I am afraid our whole battle will start all over again with DATCP. They will very likely come and tell us we will now have to register in order to distribute products from our farm.

The jury has spoken and said the exact opposite. Who should we listen to??

This Bill might be a small benefit to farmers who have a Grade A producer license. It might keep the dairy plant from kicking them off the truck if they are caught doing raw milk on the side. I feel very strongly that farmers should continue to build off of the verdict in our
case. If we are allowed to distribute milk to owners why should it be any different for a farmer who has a Grade A producer license? How does a dairy plant have the right to tell the farmers that they are not allowed to distribute any of their milk to anyone else? Is this not just
a way to keep the farmer down where they can handle him and force him to take the low price for their milk that they (the processors) want to give him. What we need is a Bill that puts the processors and the regulators in their respective places. Everyone of them has a position
to fill in this society, but the problems that we are having these days is that most of them are operating outside of that position that has been given to them by the people.

There are a lot more things that I could say about this Bill but I think you can get the drift! I strongly feel we do not need more regulations for the farmers, according to the jury from Sauk County all we need is more guidelines and maybe tighter reins for a few regulatory agencies that have stepped outside of the authority that has been given to them.

I am afraid all we are doing with this Bill is; *Taking a right which we already have and turning it into a privilege which can be taken away!*

I am sorry to say that the knowledge and full understanding of being a truly "free inhabitant" (just as it says in the Organic Law) is an idea that is still not generally well known. IMO - this is especially crucial where it most needs to be known - right at the foundation of culture: agriculture - down on the farm!

I wonder whether I may be the only student of Ed Rivera (the only Law professor who is teaching the basic course on the Organic Laws) who enrolled in his course out of concern for the farmers. I suspect that I am! In any case I would like to have some allies now who have affinity with the cause of the farmers (like Vernon and others who are or have been under attack by government agencies, just as the documentary: Farmageddon: farmageddonmovie.com/ and others have revealed). I want to distill what I know and understand of the basic course in law and government and present that to the farmers.

"Wisconsin Raw Dairyman Plans to Appeal His Verdict"[2]

Also: "Farmer Hershberger Seeks Full Vindication"[3]

I appreciate all the efforts that are required now to go for "full vindication"! And if that objective is achieved it would be a good thing if it can transform what appears to me to be an atmosphere of threats, duress, coercion, fraud and usurpation (TDCFU) that has been created by governmental agencies. And what better location to begin that transformation than "in the heart of 'America’s Dairyland'.”? Is this the hope of the appeal? If not then just having Vernon vindicated may be sufficient.

But if there is hope beyond that then I'd like to know where the faith is being placed for that. (After all "faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen".) If faith is only placed in the present-day legal system I think it is misplaced.

I am inviting a conversation at Amazon to identify where our faith in America may be better placed. It is the forum on the page for:
"Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Food Rights: The Escalating Battle over Who Decides What We Eat", the newest book by David Gumpert.[4]
