  • Day 4   by  ausjulie     16 y     3,561       2 Messages Shown       Blog: journal of my 30 day juice fast
Today has been fine althougth right now i am really feeling like eating. not hungry just feel like eating soemthing yummy. i will get thru it. probably because of all the yummy food sitting in my fridge i made for my kids. i have to start making them things i dont like to eat.
ive had an orange juice, mc lemondae and some veggie broth i made last nite.
i put all kinds of veggies in a big pot, no potato though, try for mostly greens. i also put in garlic and parsley and one apple to sweeten it a little. then i boil it up let it simmer for a few hours. i strain two or three times. i usually then put the veggies back on the stove and put more water in to get another broth out of it. i will blend the veggies left and freeze them in ziplock bags. then when i am done with the fast and make a casserole or soup i add the pureed veggies in and no one even notices. i know its no where near as good as fresh produce but better to use the puree as a thickener than starchy flour. i didnt really plan on making this broth so soon on this fast but it has been really cold here adn i wanted somethig to warm me up.
no weight loss today to be expected. scales are going away until monday which will be day 8 adn my first milestone. hopefully i will see some loss but more importantly i hope i will feel inspired to go on.
i read someone's comment on the juice forum today about how a fast shouldnt be about feeling you are depriving yourself or missing out or like a sentence. it should be about giving to your self. and from experience i know this is true. but at this stage i am just getting thru i dont feel inspired or anything just yet, i just feel like i have to do it. i know this changes as you get further into the fast but right now i just taking one day at a time and trying to stay positive.
i ran today which i found really enjoyable i went around to a friends house and used her tredmill just to make sure i would use one when i buy it. i push myself so much harder on a tredmill than when i run outside however i love runnign with my dog in our neighbourhood and at other parks etc. but i did 4 miles and felt good so i have decided a tredmill is a good thing for me right now and if i get extra time i will still do the outside activity. it jsut means there is no more excuse like its too cold its too wet i have to get dinner on i dont want to leave teh kids etc etc...
anyway its night time now and im over the kids dinner which is by far my hardest time. looking forward to a lovely sound sleep and another day tomorrow!

I am glad you started posting again. I read your blog right before I started my fast and it REALLY inspired me. With each day I witnessed your growth, transformation and I got to see how your view of life changed. Actually, I think about your post when I think about how I am going to eat when I have completed my 30 days because I want to try raw foods and many vegitarian meals.

Thank you again and keep up the fantastic work.
