More On The Four Agreements
The kind of agreements that bring greater happiness!

"You all know the wonderful tales where the magician or the sorceress only has to utter a few words to conjure up a castle, or tables covered with the most delectable dishes, or a great bird on which to travel through space and so forth. These stories are not pure inventions, they have meaning – they remind us of a time long ago when humans possessed the magic word. But little by little, as they sunk down into matter, humans lost their power over it, and were no longer able to master it. Every day, people must grapple with matter so as to shape it, draw subsistence from it, find shelter and make the objects they need, and it constantly offers up resistance. In reality, the power of the Word has not been definitively taken away from humans, and they are capable of finding it again, provided they undertake a great work of inner transformation. We can define the Word as the synthesis of all expressions of psychic life. This work of transformation therefore begins with the mastery of thoughts, feelings and desires."[9]

This "great work of inner transformation" can be very well supported with a couple tools in including:
adopting "The Four Agreements" (plus a fifth one; - See: "The Four Agreements" By: Don Miguel Ruiz & "The Fifth Agreement");
making correct decisions by knowing the uniqueness of one's authentic self - supported by knowing one's Human Design BodyGraph;
and by embarking upon the four-fold Golden Path sequence based on one's Hologenetic (Gene Keys) Profile.

The Four Agreements have been part of this blog-writer's life long enough to give him a certain level of self-mastery and for that he is most grateful! The agreements are ones that an individual makes with their own self to: "Be impeccable with your word, don't take anything personally, don't make assumptions, and to always do your best".
He also likes the companion book.[1]

May 15, 2019 - Attempted To Send To "PowerMoves" -
This writer has adopted the "Four Agreements" as of about ten years ago and he reaffirms them every day - most especially the second and third agreements (as they spare him of much needless suffering with regard to his relations with others). Your site answers a question he had regarding forgiveness and thinking that it needed to be added as a kind of back-up to "The Four." (He must have given his book away because he doesn't seem tho have it anymore although he has the "Companion Book.") Can you tell us where in "The Four Agreements" Ruiz speaks "on ... forgiveness"? .........

The Fourth Agreement is "Always Do Your Best".
Omraam (and I) agree:
"Do your best to live today well, for tomorrow does not yet exist, and by worrying about it, it is as if you are throwing your energies into empty space."[4]

"... When you have to speak, do it to improve the lives of those to whom you are listening, to enlighten their minds, warm their hearts, and especially to direct their will in the service of a high ideal."[6]

This quote from Omraam (immediately above here) is in total and complete harmony with the "First Agreement" and probably at least the Fourth as well! The rest of the "Thought" of Omraam is worth reading as well as he presents a contrast with "Those who speak without reflection, without weighing their words".

Here is additional wisdom that this writer consider most worthy as a kind of extended "amendment" to "The Second Agreement: Don't Take Anything Personally":
Gossip and slander - how to protect yourselves -
How often do you suffer when you learn that you have been criticized or accused unfairly? Your first reaction is obviously to respond, which is often useless, because we cannot stop people from talking and saying what suits them with no regard for the truth. To avoid enduring gossip and slander, here is what you must do. Through thought and prayer, rise up to the regions in you where light reigns. There, the currents given off by this negative talk will no longer reach you: the law of backlash will take effect, and such talk will return to those who uttered the slander and they will be the ones to suffer its negative effects. This is how divine Justice manifests.[7]
